Superfly Pizza Brings Big Carbs and Ranch Dips to Woolloongabba

Superfly Pizza nails the casual night out in Woolloongabba with airy pizza crusts, thoughtful dip pairings, and a light, balanced tiramisu to finish.

Dipping pizza crust straight into a tub of herb ranch sauce might feel like a playful twist, but it completely changes the rhythm of a pizza meal in Woolloongabba. At Superfly Pizza, that dippy ranch sauce ensures not a single crust gets left behind on the wooden board.

We pulled up a seat at 17B Gibbon Street with a simple plan: start with serious carbs and finish with tiramisu. Paired with an Aperol Spritz and an Aether Seltzer, the setting immediately felt relaxed, welcoming and primed for sharing.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Is Superfly Pizza worth adding to your itinerary?

Holding to our rule of saving room for sweets, a generous slice of tiramisu arrived dusted in cocoa powder and shaved chocolate.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Menu highlights

Highlights from Zen’s visit.

At a glance: what we ordered

  • Burrata with warm bread
  • Cheesy garlic bread
  • Crispy arancini balls
  • Paisano pizza
  • Italian Meats pizza
  • Margherita pizza
  • Ranch dippy sauce
  • Aperol Spritz
  • Aether Seltzer Wild Peach
  • Tiramisu

Warm Starters and Fresh Drinks

The spread opened with a fresh ball of burrata, finished with olive oil and cracked pepper alongside warm baked bread that released a plume of steam as we pulled it apart.

We added the cheesy garlic bread and crispy arancini balls topped with shaved cheese and fresh herbs, dunked into a rich red sauce. Sipping our cold drinks between bites made for an ideal start while the pizza oven hummed in the background.

Airy Crusts and Dippy Ranch

When the wood-fired pizzas hit the table, the combination of a crispy base and an airy crust stood out right away. Our favourites were the Paisano, striking a balanced sweet and savoury note, and the loaded Italian Meats pizza.

We also had the classic Margherita, which kept things simple and traditional. Savouring those pillowy crust edges became a highlight once we dragged them through the dippy ranch sauce, proving why skipping the sauce would be a mistake.

A Light Finish on Tiramisu

Holding to our rule of saving room for sweets, a generous slice of tiramisu arrived dusted in cocoa powder and shaved chocolate.

It was light, creamy and not too coffee heavy, bringing a balanced sweet end to a proper carb feast in Woolloongabba.
