Holding up a loaded chili dog inside Dawg Boys, there was no mistaking how this meal was meant to be tackled. We headed out to Strathpine to check out their new store, diving straight into two signature picks: the New York dog and the LA chili dog. I insisted that eating a loaded chili dog with your hands hits differently, though Jon had other ideas and promptly picked up a knife and fork to cut into his instead.

Skipping the sides would be a mistake. The fried mozzarella sticks were exceptionally stringy as we pulled them apart, stretching hot melted cheese right at the table, while the crispy potato gems proved dangerously addictive.

Big American Comfort Energy
The overall spread at Dawg Boys brings big American comfort food energy, with both indoor and outdoor seating available for a relaxed meal. Beyond the signature hot dogs, our table filled out with plenty of comfort staples. We tucked into southern fried chicken tenders drizzled with dark BBQ sauce alongside a side of cool ranch, followed by the Hawaii grilled chicken burger, stacked with a chicken fillet, jalapeños, fresh lettuce, tomato, and cheese.
Crispy Sides and a Creamy Biscoff Shake
Skipping the sides would be a mistake. The fried mozzarella sticks were exceptionally stringy as we pulled them apart, stretching hot melted cheese right at the table, while the crispy potato gems proved dangerously addictive.
For drinks, I had the Biscoff salted caramel shake, served in a tall glass with a generous swirl of whipped cream and caramel drizzle. It was wonderfully rich, and I am still thinking about how creamy it was. If you are planning a trip out to Strathpine for a fast-casual American feast, pairing one of their loaded chili dogs with that creamy Biscoff shake is easily the smartest move on the menu.
