Suburban Local Spot
Mitch & Antler, Mitchelton
Mitch & Antler is a welcoming neighbourhood local in Mitchelton that delivers friendly service, a setup built for dogs, and creative brunch items like the Benny Croffle.

Walking along Parkview Street in Mitchelton with my chihuahua Pudds, finding a cafe within easy strolling distance from home felt like a genuine win. Tucked away from the busier main streets, Mitch & Antler has quickly become my new local: a vibrant neighbourhood spot that welcomes dogs just as warmly as their owners.
The green-clad building and shaded outdoor patio area create a bright morning setting tucked away from traffic. With friendly service and outdoor seats under the awning, it is an effortless spot to settle in for a relaxed breakfast or a post-walk coffee.
Is Mitch & Antler worth adding to your itinerary?
The rest of the menu shows plenty of range for a neighbourhood spot. We sampled the Hot Mess Bagel loaded with bacon, egg, and cheese, as well as a gluten-free option filled with grilled halloumi and avocado. Next to the pastry case filled with tarts and cinnamon rolls, four fresh sugar-dusted madeleines served on branded liner paper made an ideal sweet bite to share.

The Standout Benny Croffle
The standout dish for me was the Benny Croffle. Taking a buttery croissant, pressing it into a waffle iron, and transforming it into the base for eggs Benedict gives you deep, crisp waffle grooves alongside flaky, buttery layers.
I had my eggs scrambled over the croffle base with bacon and hollandaise, and the dish delivered completely on texture and flavour. It strikes a wonderful balance between a decadent pastry and a rich savoury brunch. It is as good as it sounds, and easily the plate that keeps me coming back.

The drink list is just as thoughtful. We enjoyed a vibrant, layered iced blueberry matcha capped with cold foam, a double shot Biscoff latte, and yellow green tea poured from a black teapot. They even serve custom-canned drinks like their chilled mango smoothie, making it simple to grab a specialty beverage while walking the dog.
