Squeezing a fresh lemon wedge over grilled steak souvlaki skewers laid across yellow rice is a fantastic way to start a meal in Fortitude Valley. The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill has made its Australian debut here, bringing a popular US fast-casual concept straight to Brisbane with a focus on generous, colourful spreads.

Tucked inside the historic TCB arcade building, we stopped by to sample the menu and see how this overseas favourite translates locally. The dining space feels bright, welcoming, and relaxed under the venue's bold wall logo, creating an easy pitstop whether you are grabbing a quick lunch, an afternoon bite, or an early dinner.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Is The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill worth adding to your itinerary?

To balance the savoury feast, house-made iced teas stirred over ice in clear cups provide a crisp, refreshing pause between bites. For dessert, three scoops of baklava ice cream come generously drizzled with syrup and sprinkled with crushed nuts, while a spoon scooping into Mom’s Rice Pudding offers a comfortingly smooth, cinnamon-dusted finish before heading back out through the arcade precinct.

Hearty Skewers, Loaded Gyros, and Shared Dips

The generous proportions are immediately obvious as soon as our dining spread fills the table. Taking a bite into the Great Greek Chicken Gyro reveals a soft, warm wrap packed tight with lettuce, tomato, crumbled feta, and cool white sauce. Right beside it, the Steak Souvlaki Plate comes fully loaded with grilled skewers over fragrant yellow rice, paired with warm pita slices, creamy tzatziki, and a crisp tomato and red onion salsa.

The side dishes carry that same generous spirit across the table. A bowl of smooth house hummus topped with whole chickpeas and parsley makes for effortless dipping with warm pita. Meanwhile, the feta fries arrive in a box sprinkled with dried herbs and layered with cheese that stretches into satisfying melted strands with every forkful.

House Drinks and Cinnamon Sweets

To balance the savoury feast, house-made iced teas stirred over ice in clear cups provide a crisp, refreshing pause between bites.
