Dual Tabletop Hot Pot and Barbecue at Hu Shang in Sunnybank
Hu Shang Seafood Hot Pot & BBQ Buffet delivers a fun, interactive all-you-can-eat feast in Sunnybank, combining both barbecue grilling and simmering hot pot at your table for $53 per person.

Hot pot broth poured straight from a metallic kettle into a colourful decorative soup pot alongside thin slices of beef and pork belly sizzling over garlic on a central grill sets an immediate rhythm at Hu Shang Seafood Hot Pot & BBQ Buffet in Sunnybank. At $53 per person for an all-you-can-eat feast, the standout appeal is having both cooking methods built right into your table so you never have to choose between bubbling broth and sizzling barbecue.
Stepping into the dining space, green booth seating sits beneath rows of hanging red lanterns, framing an inviting atmosphere designed for taking your time and cooking at your own pace.
Is Seafood Hotpot & BBQ Buffet worth adding to your itinerary?
A major highlight of the experience is the long DIY sauce station lined with condiment bowls and decorative figures. Mixing and matching condiments to create a personal blend adds another layer of flavour; dipping freshly cooked meats into my custom sauce blend quickly made it a new favourite.

A Counter Spread Built for Dual Cooking
The main room features a long row of refrigerated buffet cabinets filled with ingredients grouped for both the grill and the soup pot. Displays hold fresh seafood like prawns, crabs, and clams alongside stacked dim sum boxes, wood ear mushrooms, noodles, and trays of marinated meats, supplemented by warm dish chafing servers.
Placing sliced meats and garlic onto the tabletop plate brings a crisp sizzle as you turn them with tongs, while raw prawns and vegetables simmer in the broth next to it. Having both options going at once keeps the meal moving naturally between seared and poached bites.
Custom Sauces and Sweet Finishes

To balance the savoury grill and hot pot dishes, the buffet includes unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and a dedicated dessert counter. I tried the sugar cane water served in a small glass jar for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by its sweet, refreshing taste. Pairing that with a yellow slushie poured from the dispenser near a golden lucky cat figurine, along with a plate of mini cakes, jellies, and fresh watermelon and melon, brings a satisfying end to the feast.
