Tinseltown delivered a concentrated dose of holiday maximalism in Southbank, transforming an interior space into an ornament-filled seasonal retreat.

Stepping into Tinseltown in Southbank felt like walking straight into a concentrated celebration of holiday maximalism. My eyes were drawn immediately up toward the dark ceiling, where dozens of colourful Christmas ornaments hung suspended at varying heights, setting a playful, indulgent mood before I even took in the rest of the venue. Bold red-and-white striped wallpaper lined the surrounding walls, creating a vibrant background for a decorative fireplace mantle trimmed with bright red checkered bows. The pop-up bar spared no detail in transforming its interior into an immersive seasonal space where every surface contributed to the festive atmosphere.

Moving over toward the counter area, the bar itself was framed with shimmering gold garland and an array of baubles hanging overhead, where staff members dressed in festive attire worked against the holiday backdrop.
Inverted Trees and Candy Canes
The centrepiece inside the main room was an illuminated Christmas tree mounted completely upside down directly on the dark ceiling. Suspended inverted above the space, its glowing lights cast a soft, warm radiance across the surrounding decor. Positioned near bright blue walls adorned with crisp candy cane cutouts, this inverted tree served as a whimsical central focal point that continually drew my gaze back overhead. The contrast between the cool blue backdrop and the radiant tree lights gave this corner of the pop-up a distinct visual identity that felt both surreal and festive.
Garland Bars and Tinsel Lounges
Moving over toward the counter area, the bar itself was framed with shimmering gold garland and an array of baubles hanging overhead, where staff members dressed in festive attire worked against the holiday backdrop.
Further inside, the venue transitioned into a relaxed lounge space wrapped in metallic tinsel curtains that caught the soft glow of ambient pink lighting. A mirror ball suspended from the ceiling scattered gentle glimmers of light across the round tables below, reflecting off the surrounding curtains and hanging ceiling decorations. Although no food or drinks were featured during this walk-through, Tinseltown’s committed styling turned the Southbank space into an entertaining seasonal spectacle.
