Stepping into the Cell Block

Walking past a red sign warning that all possessions are subject to search, the theatrical atmosphere takes hold immediately. In the dimly lit hallway, an actor in a security guard uniform shouts instructions while the Warden stamps paperwork labelled Prison Record Card at a wooden desk. I was assigned the criminal identity Gold Dust, giving me a persona to inhabit before being escorted into the iron-barred cell block.

Sitting inside concrete and metal cells alongside fellow inmates in orange jumpsuits, the experience relies on everyone leaning into the roleplay. The fun comes from managing secret dealings right under the Warden's watchful eye, turning a simple drinks gathering into a shared effort to keep the covert operation running.

The 1 hour and 45 minute session includes four custom cocktails served throughout the experience as part of the storyline. Instead of standard bar glassware, drinks arrive in metallic prison mugs filled with ice and garnished with fresh citrus slices.
