James & Antler's February Drop Delivers Fresh Flavours in Fortitude Valley
James & Antler's February lineup strikes a delicious balance between bright, refreshing sips and comforting toasted eats, led by an exceptional iced matcha and a standout canned brownie dessert.

Holding a chilled cup of bright green iced matcha layered over a vibrant yellow fruit puree outside James & Antler on James Street, I knew February's seasonal drop was off to a promising start.
The February specials bring a balance of sweet and savoury options to the table in Fortitude Valley, pairing fruit-forward drinks with warm toasted croques and layered desserts in pop-top cans.
Is James & Antler worth adding to your itinerary?
My absolute favourite from the lineup was the cheesecake brownie in a can. Served in a transparent pop-top container, popping open the lid reveals clear layers of rich brownie chunks, smooth cream, strawberry slices, and peach pieces. Dipping in with a wooden spoon yields a dessert that is fruity, crunchy, and rich in all the best ways.

Savoury Croques and Refreshing Sips
We started with the Weiss iced matcha, and it easily lived up to the visual buildup. The drink turns out smooth, creamy, fruity, and seriously refreshing, blending the rich matcha base with bright fruit layers. It stands out in my mind as some of the best matcha I have had in Brisbane.
On the savoury side, the kitchen constructs the Croque Mediterranean with care, spreading white sauce onto toasted bread on wire racks and grating fresh cheese over the top. A blowtorch melts and browns the cheese layer before a fresh lemon wedge is squeezed over the finished sandwich. Pulling the warm sandwich apart reveals melted cheese, tomato, and a cool, herbal tzatziki filling that makes the croque crispy, cheesy, and full of flavour.
A Sweet Standout in a Pop-Top Can
My absolute favourite from the lineup was the cheesecake brownie in a can. Served in a transparent pop-top container, popping open the lid reveals clear layers of rich brownie chunks, smooth cream, strawberry slices, and peach pieces. Dipping in with a wooden spoon yields a dessert that is fruity, crunchy, and rich in all the best ways.
Whether you are stopping by for a refreshing morning sip or a sweet afternoon pick-me-up, this limited lineup gives a fantastic reason to treat yourself on your next walk down James Street.
