Watching warm syrup drizzle over golden fried dough balls with the Brisbane River glowing at dusk is a pretty convincing start to an evening. Azure Mediterranean sits right on Southbank, bringing a touch of European escape to the waterside with front-row views across to the city skyline.
We settled in for sunset cocktails and a grazing-style meal designed for sharing, where the food arrives in a steady flow of vibrant small plates. The open dining space looks out toward the Goodwill Bridge, making it easy to watch the afternoon fade into twilight while catching up over drinks and shared bites.

We ordered The Riviera Banquet, a shared feast priced at $55.00 per person when you order before 6pm. It is tailored for picking and tasting a bit of everything, which is precisely how I like to eat when spending a long afternoon at the table.
The table fills quickly with an array of colourful dishes: cured meats, a bowl of mixed olives, and smooth dip drizzled with olive oil and paprika. We spread the dip across thick slices of toasted brioche bread and tucked into a sizzling skillet of grilled halloumi glazed with dark fig syrup. Alongside the grazing plates, there was also a steak served with herb butter, golden hot chips, and a crisp side salad, giving the spread a grounded, comforting balance that kept the conversation going naturally.
