WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Menu highlights

Highlights from Zen’s visit.

House Sourdough, Pickles and Seasonal Greens

Our spread opened with Harvest wholemeal sourdough presented on a branded wooden board alongside cultured brown butter and a side of market vegetable pickles finished with oregano and red pepper. The bright, tangy pickles provided a lively accent to the rich, nutty butter and dark warm bread.

Alongside the bread came a bowl of smooth chickpea hummus paired with a wedge of wood oven flatbread, quickly joined by sweet corn ribs slathered in romesco sauce and cheese. A shallow bowl of spring asparagus followed, dressed in macadamia milk, chopped nuts and grated pecorino cheese for a crisp, fresh touch.

Barossa Mushrooms and Flat Iron Steak

The kitchen then turned toward earthier land produce, serving sautéed Barossa gourmet mushrooms arranged on a rectangular platter alongside brussels sprouts and a rich mushroom ketchup. The dish highlighted the deep, savoury qualities of local fungi.

Plated beside the mushrooms was sliced beef flat iron steak finished with a crisp radish slice and paired with green peppercorn. By grounding every course in the fresh offerings of the Adelaide and Barossa regions, Harvest Kitchen gives diners a compelling, produce-first reason to slow down and savour South Australia.
