The night isn’t over until you have had your sweeties. That post-dinner ritual in Adelaide is what leads to Shibui Dessert Bar, where ending the evening on a sweet note is the whole point. Settling in for late-night treats means pulling up a chair to a dark tabletop that is soon filled with comforting warm drinks and a colourful spread of handcrafted macarons.

There is a distinct pleasure in treating dessert as the main event of the late hours rather than just a quick afterthought. Sitting back over a spread of sweet flavours gives the night a lingering, satisfying sense of occasion, whether you are winding down after a full meal or meeting up for a late-night sweet cap.

Warm Drinks to Settle Into the Evening

To build our late-night spread, we went straight for the warm drinks menu. I ordered a Biscoff latte alongside a white hot chocolate, both served hot and set on the dark tabletop. Having two rich, sweet drinks side by side sets a cozy, relaxing tone for the rest of the visit.

The Biscoff latte incorporates the warm, caramelized spice of the biscuit into coffee, while the white hot chocolate offers a smooth, sweet comfort. Together, they provide a satisfying alternative to standard late-night tea or black coffee as the evening winds down.

Rounding out the selection were two standouts: a Thai milk tea macaron and a seasonal dark chocolate Halloween special.
