Adelaide Dining
A Celebratory Feast at Shobosho in Adelaide
Shobosho delivers a memorable Adelaide dining experience with lively cocktails, textured bites, and comforting shared dishes suited for special occasions.

Toasting our honeymoon in Adelaide brought us to Shobosho, where two icy cocktail drinks landed on the warm timber table alongside our red chopsticks and folded cloth napkins.
We started our lunch with two featured drinks listed on the menu: the Flustered Pineapple, built from Haku Vodka, pineapple, elderflower, ginger, and lemon, and the Umeshu Spritz, combining Umeshu, sparkling wine, and soda.
Is Shōbōsho worth adding to your itinerary?
Beyond the main dining space, Shobosho offers distinct experiences within the venue, including an intimate yakitori bar called Shō focused on charcoal-grilled skewers and the private six-seat Sapporo Room for small group gatherings.

Wood-fired craft and shared bites
The venue's kitchen combines traditional Japanese yakitori cooking methods with raw, pickled, and fermented elements, using heat, steam, and smoke across a custom cooking line featuring a wood-fired oven, hydraulic grill, and dedicated yakitori pit.
The meal quickly built into a colourful feast across our wooden table, with cocktails and shared snacks set out together.
Our first bites were two crunchy nori crisps heaped with a savoury filling and topped with delicate ribbons of sliced onion, delivering a crisp textured start to the spread.
Next were the pan-fried dumplings. We picked them up with red chopsticks and dipped each one into a small bowl of sesame seed sauce, bringing rich sesame flavour to the dumpling platter.
Glazed dishes and pork fried rice
A dark glazed roll dish generously garnished with fresh green herbs was served alongside a small pickled side dish, providing a bright savoury contrast to the heavier plates.
The heart of the table was a dark ceramic bowl filled with tender sliced roasted pork laid over scallion-flecked fried rice.
Pressing into the soft roasted pork with a fork and scooping up the fried rice beneath with a spoon made every mouthful deeply comforting. It was a relaxed, delicious moment that made our Adelaide honeymoon stop feel genuinely special.
