Starting lunch with a dish that usually sits at the end of a menu makes a clear statement, and that is exactly how I opened my visit to Riverbar & Kitchen in Brisbane City. Topped with glazed fruit and served alongside dark seed crackers, the warm baked brie was cheesy, fruity, and undeniably delicious. Sipping the playfully named 'Lonely Fans' cocktail right on the edge of the Brisbane River set a lively tone for exploring their autumn menu.

Set along Eagle Street, the venue combines sweeping water views with a buzzing outdoor atmosphere. Sitting outside with a clear line of sight across the river toward the Story Bridge, it feels like the kind of spot where long afternoons naturally unfold, framed by bright yellow umbrellas and a steady breeze off the water.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Is Riverbar & Kitchen worth adding to your itinerary?

Drinks play an equally vibrant role in the experience, especially in the open air. The pineapple-garnished 'Lonely Fans' cocktail and a refreshing virgin colada brought a bright tropical contrast that suited the breezy riverfront setting well.

Savoury Autumn Comforts

When it came to heartier dishes, the braised beef brisket pot pie was the standout anchor. Baked in a small cast-iron skillet, lifting the flaky puff pastry crust revealed a rich, warming filling that proved impossible to stop eating.

To balance the richness of the pie, we added the grilled zucchini salad topped with chicken to our table. We also shared a bowl of crispy chips served with aioli for dipping, picking them up between bites while taking in the busy surrounding dining area.

Tropical Drinks and Riverside Sunshine
