dapl Restaurant: Hotel Long Lunches and Floral Cheesecake
A chilled glass of rosé sets an easy rhythm at dapl inside Spring Hill's Amora Hotel. I stopped in for their Super Car Long Lunch, where crusty bread, cured meats, pickled vegetables, and herb-infused oil with dark balsamic fill the centre of the table. Seared meat over smooth purée and herb-garnished chicken follow smoothly, but the absolute highlight of the feast is the lavender cheesecake. Using subtle local florals to elevate a classic slice, it creates a polished finish that keeps lunch lingering well past the final course.

Botellón: Spanish Share Plates and Churros in Graceville
Lifting a slice of toast topped with smooth duck liver pâté and sweet fig is the exact moment I knew lunch at Botellón in Graceville was meant to stretch on. Settled in the covered alfresco area under festoon lights, we filled our table with golden crispy eggplant chips, patatas bravas, and a bubbling skillet of baked saganaki cheese studded with dried fruits and nuts. Paired with a chilled glass of Henschke Pinot Gris, the kitchen paces each plate beautifully. Warm sugar-coated churros dipped in dark chocolate provide the ultimate sweet conclusion.

Aunty: Feast-Worthy Banquets in Fortitude Valley
Stepping into Aunty on Wandoo Street, we settled at a dark marble table under glass wine racks to turn lunch into a proper feast. We built our spread around the Quick Sticks Banquet, adding chilli crab Shanghai noodles with a cooked lobster claw and egg and lap yuk fried rice. My favourite savoury dish was the Wagyu stir-fried beef with Asian greens, alongside duck presented two ways. The table reached its peak with the signature Aunty milk tea toast, where golden toasted blocks meet cream, salted egg custard, and milk tea caramel.

Tarbouche Mezza Bar: West End’s $40 Sunday Feast
Tarbouche Mezza Bar in West End solves the decision fatigue of ordering with their $40 Sunday lunch buffet. Between 12pm and 4pm, you can build a personal tasting plate packed with oil-drizzled hummus, decorated baba ganoush, fresh tabouli, and my favourite hashweh beef rice. Warm flatbread, stuffed vine leaves, and roasted lemon garlic potatoes clear the way for dessert. The real fun sits at the sweet station, where a multi-tiered running chocolate fountain awaits fresh strawberries, bananas, and watermelon for dipping before finishing with traditional brass coffee service.
Arriving at a restaurant with the urge to order one of everything on the menu usually requires a large group, but Tarbouche Mezza Bar in West End solves that problem every Sunday. Their weekly lunch buffet puts an entire spread of traditional Lebanese dishes within reach for $40 per adult.
Tarbouche Mezza Bar offers an accessible Sunday lunch in West End for anyone wanting a generous spread of Lebanese dishes, anchored by house dips and a sweet chocolate fountain finale.

Stilts Dining: River Views and a Surprising Mushroom Main
Set right on the Brisbane River on Alice Street, Stilts Dining pairs water views with an impressive kitchen. We started by pulling apart warm brioche spread with tomato butter while sipping a lychee cocktail by the window. While the Angus tenderloin with red wine jus is a classic choice, the Lion's Mane mushroom completely stole the show. Served with house-made gnocchi, dashi broth, hazelnut gremolata, and cauliflower purée, it delivers incredible savoury depth. Finish with the cookies and cream cheesecake topped with salted caramel and burnt meringue.
We sat down at Stilts expecting the Brisbane River view to be the main topic of conversation, but a Lion's Mane mushroom dish completely stole the lunch. Set right on the water in Brisbane City, the dining room makes an immediate impression before the first plate arrives. Yet the dish that dominated our afternoon was the Lion's Mane mushroom, proving incredibly rich, hearty and full of flavour.
Stilts offers far more than a scenic Brisbane River view. Warm service, quality steaks and an outstanding Lion's Mane mushroom dish make this waterfront venue a standout choice for date nights and special occasions.
What I’d start with: Stilts Brioche with cultured butter and tomato butter, Wagyu Tartare, Lion's Mane Mushroom with fresh gnocchi, dashi broth, hazelnut gremolata, and cauliflower purée.
